Some notable links from around the traps. So far this has been a great year for some really (well deserved) snarky reviews.
- Rebel Moon -- maybe not the worst film ever made, but it's got to be close. I watched it, this review is too kind if anything.
- Elon Musk -- speaking of the worst... "He is not a great innovator. He is not a genius. He is not taking the human species anywhere in particular. He’s boring. Even his faults are boring! Musk is a very ordinary man. A con man; a fraudster. Worst of all, a government contractor."
- Big tech -- "Back then there was hope, a belief that these companies were building the future and selling it to us in a seemingly-honest transaction, and a level of trust that tech companies were so profitable because they were making cool stuff. Tech had banked a great deal of goodwill, adding depth and connectivity to our lives, making information easier to find and take action upon, delivering anything we wanted faster than we'd ever got it before. It was exciting to imagine what Apple, Amazon, or Facebook might do next. Sadly, we found out."
- The internet -- "The web isn't fun anymore because instead of being a space used for weird creative expression, it's been turned into a business, and turning anything into a business sucks all the fun and joy out of it. I really think it's as simple as that."
